On Oculus Quest, use the built-in recording feature. You can switch between multiple camera views for this window (including a third-person camera that is following you) using the Stream Mixer in the Advanced Tab of the Settings Menu of your Watch Menu. Most gameplay videos of Rec Room are captured from the Rec Room desktop window using, for example, the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10, Open Broadcaster Software, or NVIDIA ShadowPlay. These cameras are limited to very short videos without audio.

Currently there is no support for sound recording. The gif camera records video in (animated) gif format, and the video camera records video in mp4 format. Videos taken on PC save to the directory "Documents/Rec Room". This shows how long you've been recording and how long you have left on this video. To take a video, hold the trigger down, and observe a red dot and a red progress line on the video output. When held, the video cameras display what they can see. The app automatically records five seconds and then takes you to the editing window. Using Fixie GIF Camera is as simple as choosing whether you want to use the front-end or rear-end camera, and then pressing the record button. Live cameras are only available in Paddleball, the other cameras are also available in the Rec Center and Paintball. Fixie GIF Camera is an app that lets you create animated GIFs using your Android's camera. There are three types of video camera available in Rec Room, which allow PC users to record short clips of their time in Rec Room.
